Ondorus has claimed a little table in the library as his workspace; it sits off by a wall, piled with books organized into stacks and marked with pieces of paper that stick out from between the pages. The univir is sitting there when Raven arrives, leafing through something illustrated and jotting something down in a small notebook. A second chair has been pulled up to the table.]
It takes Raven just a bit of time to navigate to and then through the library. When she finds him, she gives the chair a hesitant look. Standing here beside the shelf is much easier.]
[He really wants her to sit? Fine. She'll sit, stiff and uncomfortable and on the edge of the chair. Fingertips resting on the table as if for balance.]
[She'd share more, but given that he doesn't remember the Unity Festival, he won't have the slightest idea about her feathered issues either. The reason she sits so uncomfortably has a lot to do with visible wings.]
Never thought about other worlds, or...whatever it really is.
The idea of other worlds besides the Forest of Beginnings is very rarely explored in literature, and to my knowledge has never been treated as a real possibility.
[Ondorus smiles a little. Now they know it's more than just a possibility, don't they?]
The main reason I wanted to speak with you was to share what I've observed about rune energy in this world. Do you use magic, Raven?
The short of what I have found is that there is simply less rune energy available in Luceti than there would be in our world. It still behaves as it should, being more concentrated in flowers and growing things, but somehow the amount that can be absorbed is far lower than is convenient for casting magic.
[...He's quiet for a moment, thinking about what he had read in the guide. About the person who had been killed only a week before. About unpredictable "shifts" and their possible effects.]
There are dangers here. Not the kind we are familiar with, and not a constant threat - but dangers nonetheless.
I will be looking into contacting the spirit Nala to learn the healing magic of this world, and I recommend that you do the same. Whether or not you are interested in contacting any other spirits, a reliable healing spell is an invaluable resource to have.
As for our own magic - a dedicated garden may be able to produce a sufficient amount of rune energy. [Edible plants are the most efficient source, after all.] If needed, one could be grown indoors, with planter pots.
Backdated to....idk the 20th or something, I'm late - Voice
[...Hopefully she's awake.]
It's an appointments post backdating is unnecessary!
[She sounds mostly awake.]

[The question is mostly for the sake of politeness. It's not like there's much here to be truly busy with.]
no subject
[So, yes. Yes, she is available. So available it bothers her just a little.]

We can meet whenever you wish. I will be in the library.

[Let's make things easier on everybody. Maybe no one will be up this early except for them. It's not a merchant or tourist town.]

[See you in a few.

Ah. Thank you for coming.
[He puts a few of the stacks together, clearing a space on the table between the chairs. Sit doooooown.]

How have you been settling in? This seems a strange lifestyle, that the people of Luceti lead.

Sometimes.
[More often as a bird. But she's only really been a bird with Micah.]
I carry a sword. [A shrug, then.] Fire magic.

So we don't use as much magic. [Another shrug, and a quick glance around at the books.] There aren't monster threats here.

[So she hopes you are.]
Spirits...that's different.

[...yeah neither is he. Desert life and all. There are books on the subject, though!]
It is. I still don't entirely understand how the system works, but there is no risk and much benefit in exploring it.

[He's used to a wordier compatriot, isn't he?]
