I have new things for sale.

[Raven picks up the book, to turn it around and show off her new merchandise; some of it is jewelry, some of it is just her playing with metal - metal that came from stuff she took apart after finding it in the item shop. Then there is a row of decorative things. Kyle is visible on the other side of the counter, with a specific focus on the metal leaves and flowers of her potted "plants".]

Mmh, I shouldn't say "for sale". They don't cost anything. If you like them you can have one. [Most don't have any kind of attribute either, due to their just-plain-metal nature. The plants occasionally have gems and crystals as part of the flowers; there are a half-dozen birdnest objects, some with stone eggs inside and some with crystal eggs.

Raven's growing fear of being left alone makes her a clingier employee and, surprise surprise, a friendlier salesperson.]

Two rings. What kind of metal?

[The ones for Tony and his girlfriend-now-wife were wedding rings. The different tone of this conversation means she doesn't suspect it.]

Gold, if available. And I'd like to have some embellishment, maybe a jewel inset or an engraving? Maybe I should come by instead of trying to describe. Pepper mentioned that you can also give them some... charm or effect, that the wearer can benefit from?

[He'd never done this before, not even before the world had collapsed around him. Not for himself, at least]

I can do those things. [Even the gold wouldn't be too much of a stretch, because so few people asked for anything that she saved any good stuff she found for the times that they did.]

Different stones and crystals from my world have different kinds of magic and properties.

Are any of those stones and crystal available here? If so, anything for... inspiration? Normally I suppose they're more like... protection than anything else, but anything to help someone keep their spirits up?

And if I may say as an aside, you do wonderful work. From what I saw of Pepper and Tony's wedding set.

Most crystals have an element, and they help with magic and protection from magic. [Fire crystals make fire magic more powerful; one of her earrings is set with just such a piece of stone. As for 'inspiration', it's not quantifiable the way magic is, for her, and she struggles with the question inside her head for a while.]

Maybe...just something they like.

How about something to do with wind?

[It was... a little disappointing, he'd been hoping to do something unique. But he'd do the best he could under the circumstances]

[Crystals from her world almost always amused people, and if not, their reactions amused Raven.]

That's probably best, actually. Have to make sure it'll match him or not look too gaudy or, you know...

[Trying to arrange something as important as this without having a look at the potential, final product would be something he'd long-regret after.]

[he sounds decently sheepish, on account of how long he's been here and he hardly knows where these places are]

[Someone's come in. Raven looks up, barely frowning at the winded customer.]

[Hearing a voice was encouraging, he recognized it, and thus, followed. His smile is polite but hopeful as he spots her]

Hi, I was speaking to you just a little while ago about a pair of rings for commission. Name's Eugene and it's nice to meet you... in person.

Oh. [She nods.] Okay. You can look at what's already here. If you want.

You suggested I should look at the wind stones before commissioning? Sorry, I actually intend for these to be wedding bands, so I want to get it just... right.

[Color him nervous, but this wasn't something he wanted to settle for. It had to be perfect]

Mmh. [She has a wind crystal, but it couldn't hurt him to look at examples of what she can actually do in a reasonable amount of time and with limited resources, either. Fishing around behind her counter, she comes up with a black cloth bag; untying it reveals a greenish-tinted stone that curves around itself much like a tiny cyclone.

If he comes near enough he'll feel the slightest of breezes swirling around it.]

[Curiosity brought him closer, and he initially thought he was imagining the breeze, but then his brows shot up once he realized it was from the stone she was showing him.]

You know, this sort of thing wouldn't exist back home. Do you have something to do with lightning?

[Might as well see the entire collection if they were going to be unique.]

Also, I mean, I know a commission would be taking up your time, is there anything you'd like in exchange for making these?

[A lot of people here ask about lightning. It isn't really a magic specialty, at least around Sharance...]

No crystals for it. Leon...he works here, he has some metal that resists and amplifies lightning.

[The payment question again. Raven shakes her head.]

[The idea that an exchange wasn't necessary for goods just left him at loose ends. Pleased, but it was unfamiliar]

How about fire? That could be useful in plenty of situations.

[He paused for a moment, smiling a little at the array of rings spread out here]

What kind did Pepper and Tony have?

He asked for protection for hers. [That was about it, and she had to work some of the proper stones into the design kind of covertly.] I have a fire crystal you can look at.

Can you do more than one? For example, protection and an element? [He'd be interested in seeing the fire crystal, in all, he'd never seen anything like this in his life except for in movies and fantasy. It was kind of a treat just looking]

[After a while, it's more about available materials and less about what she herself can do. Raven pulls a black cloth bag from behind the counter, opening it and removing the red, flame-reminiscent stone with gloved hands. She holds it out, as if to say take it; it's hot to the touch, but not hot enough to burn.]

[After a moment of prompting he was careful when the crystal was put in his hand. The hotness of it wasn't unbearable and he made a soft considering sound while rubbing it between his hands. In the winter, something like this would be a definite necessity]

I think... the wind one would be nice. Something in a gold band.

[Perplexity. He's holding the fire crystal, but he wants a wind one instead?]

I need something to match the size. [Do not under any circumstances bring her a severed finger.]

[Fire wasn't Jack-- not that he lacked for passion of zeal, but he was sort of flighty. Finger size... of course that would be important. And he'd never really had opportunity to size him, either. It sort of stopped him short, and he tried to figure out how to do just that]

I... will need to get back to you on that one, then.

[Trying to find out could be fun, and keeping it a secret would be even better. Maybe he could pull a few favors in the meanwhile]
