Seven

[Raven is late for work this morning.

She's hard on herself about it all morning long, working on her projects with hardly a word to anyone else, because things like that are unacceptable. Especially when she's in this kind of mood. When it comes around to lunch time she stalks out of the smithy, bag in hand, sore on top of being frustrated with herself.

Usually she sits on the bench outside the building if it's a nice day; this time her feet take her all the way to the plaza, to sit by the fountain and break the bread of her sandwich bun into little pieces for the local birds. She's just not hungry. They are, so why not share? A small cluster of them shares her bench with her until or unless someone walks by to disturb them.

For a while, she sits there and stares at nothing. Lately everyone is whispering about that going-home stuff. And while she misses home...is Luceti really so terrible? It's like a bigger, weirder Sharance sometimes. Thinking about this too much is giving her a headache, though, so she rubs her temples with a low irate sound and gets up to go back to work.

Then lightheadedness kicks in, she overbalances too much to one side, and into the fountain she goes, cut off before she can finish shouting.

Thus, she is wet and disheveled and heavy-eyed by the time she does get back to work. Late. Again. And at last, obviously not feeling well after all.]

[If Murkrow stuck close, she'll run her fingers through his feathers.]

You're outside right now. [Murkrow indeed has! Man that feels nice.]

[pendantry]

[A shrug.]

What do you want me to do? Go through every building on the way back?

[It's better than trying to use his own beak, right.]

[tsuntrader]

You could head inside until you dry off.

[pendantry]

It won't take me long to go back. If I go somewhere else, I'll be late. [She was already late once today.]

[tsuntrader]

If you go somewhere else, you won't get sick and miss more work.

[pendantry]

I'm not sick.

[Complete with glare and scowl.]

[tsuntrader]

That's not what I said.

[pendantry]

You were thinking it.

[Someone's feathers are ruffled. She tries to brush water from her clothes like that's possible, actually shivering.]

[tsuntrader]

I don't want you to get sick, dummy. That doesn't mean that you already are.

[pendantry]

[Did he seriously just call her dummy?

Pardon this immediate need to sit down on the edge of the fountain, okay?]

[tsuntrader]

[Raven why does he ever bother caring about you-]

You're shivering. At least head to the clothes store and grab a dry outfit. [Since it is literally right next to them and everything is free so who cares.]

[pendantry]

['You can't tell me what to do' is right there on the tip of her tongue and then she remembers that this is Silver. Why does this bother her all of a sudden?

Other than because she's actually sick.]

I'm not cold. It's fine.

[tsuntrader]

[...Silver's coming over and tugging at your sleeve, Raven. Get up. Let's go. It will take five minutes.

There's no way he won't be stubborn about this.]

[pendantry]

[Still scowling, Raven gets up to follow him, able to hide a wobble pretty quickly given the circumstances. Stupid fountain.]

[tsuntrader]

[Maybe he noticed, maybe he didn't. Regardless, he keeps moving. One step at a time.

...He's still holding onto her sleeve, though- even if he can feel water start to seep through his glove as a result.]

[pendantry]

[Being led along like a child isn't really her thing.]

You can let go. I'm coming.

[tsuntrader]

[...Alright, alright, he'll let go.

But you better keep coming.]

[pendantry]

[Silver is undissuadable. Of course she's coming. She also knows that he won't let her off with just a dry coat, that he'll probably go around the damn shop himself and find her all new clothes if she doesn't do it.

So she does. +1 to initiative. In the process she gets another dizzy spell and knocks over a small standing rack.]

[tsuntrader]

[...]

I'm not sure if I should keep quiet because I'd do the same thing or say something because someone would make me rest anyway. [Raven. You're sick.]

[pendantry]

[Red-faced glare. Keep quiet. It's your safest bet.

Meanwhile she'll clean up this mess with frustrated shaky hands.]

[tsuntrader]

[...He lets out a sigh before going to help her. You really are a dummy, Raven.] You're sick. Go home.

[pendantry]

I have to work. [They don't have Hiccup and Sokka has been taking breaks and she was late already and, oh, by the way-] I'm fine.

[tsuntrader]

Do you really think you can do your job as well as you want to while you're about to fall over?

[pendantry]

I'm not-

[Ought to know by now how fruitless it is to argue with Silver.]

I just have to be there.
