Seven

[Raven is late for work this morning.

She's hard on herself about it all morning long, working on her projects with hardly a word to anyone else, because things like that are unacceptable. Especially when she's in this kind of mood. When it comes around to lunch time she stalks out of the smithy, bag in hand, sore on top of being frustrated with herself.

Usually she sits on the bench outside the building if it's a nice day; this time her feet take her all the way to the plaza, to sit by the fountain and break the bread of her sandwich bun into little pieces for the local birds. She's just not hungry. They are, so why not share? A small cluster of them shares her bench with her until or unless someone walks by to disturb them.

For a while, she sits there and stares at nothing. Lately everyone is whispering about that going-home stuff. And while she misses home...is Luceti really so terrible? It's like a bigger, weirder Sharance sometimes. Thinking about this too much is giving her a headache, though, so she rubs her temples with a low irate sound and gets up to go back to work.

Then lightheadedness kicks in, she overbalances too much to one side, and into the fountain she goes, cut off before she can finish shouting.

Thus, she is wet and disheveled and heavy-eyed by the time she does get back to work. Late. Again. And at last, obviously not feeling well after all.]

[She was about to find out. Before Naoki could even turn around and leave, Cerberus gave a deep breath, power summoning from that alone. Raven would soon first feel a small yet powerful wind, followed by warmth, heat erasing the fire. Normally, such a spell combination would take longer to perform, and be powerful enough to knock back others, but Cerberus had control. He was after all the guard hound of hell.]

[...But you're a bird.]

Are you sure? [Then again, she turned into Ho-oh once, and she's red when she's a bird... Fire/Flying? The cold wouldn't bother her much then, right?]

Yeah. I don't notice the cold. ...But I hate getting wet like this.

[tsuntrader]

[...Welp. He's pulling off his jacket to offer to her, then.

She really is a Fire/Flying type...]

[pendantry]

[The warmth is noted, and not unwelcome, but Raven's suspicious look now bounces between Naoki and Cerberus equally.]

Why are you helping? [Neither seems like the incessantly helpful type.]

[She shakes her head. The jacket she has on now is fine. Trying to wear his will only get it wet too.]

I'm going back to work anyway. ...Thanks.

If you're sure. Don't stay out for too long.

[pendantry]

Out? The shop's indoors.

[If Murkrow stuck close, she'll run her fingers through his feathers.]

[tsuntrader]

You're outside right now. [Murkrow indeed has! Man that feels nice.]

I'm not hungry. It's yours if you want it.

[pendantry]

[A shrug.]

What do you want me to do? Go through every building on the way back?

[It's better than trying to use his own beak, right.]

[tsuntrader]

You could head inside until you dry off.

[ Sasuke doesn't care all that much either. He's tempted to turn on his heel and move on but he stops. What would Itachi do?

... he guesses he might as well try to help, if he keeps that in mind. Reluctantly, Sasuke walks over to the fountain-dipper. ] Hey.

It won't take me long to go back. If I go somewhere else, I'll be late. [She was already late once today.]

Bothered me by not doing anything.

[Cerberus nodded to his master's word, though motioned with his head a small push. His way of saying to push his master's good intentions, even if he never admitted it in full.]

Besides, I still owed you for the weapons too.

[pendantry]

[Raven's already up, stepping out of the fountain and trying to shake off water.]

What do you want?

[pendantry]

They're free. Nothing costs money here.

[And Raven was growing to like working that way.]

And I like it that way too, but old habits are hard to break.

[ ... ] I was checking if you needed help.

[Today is one of those days where Leon actually comes into the smithy to study what's come in and look for inspiration. He's a common enough sight, seeing as he sometimes contributes in the smithy and spends time looking at what weapons have been made or have come in.

So when Raven comes in late, he doesn't think too much of it; he mostly acknowledges that she's there at some point in the day, kinda like Sokka and the others. But, as he's leaving, he really takes a look at her and tilts his head in confusion.]

Raven? Something wrong?

[He can be unobservant once in awhile.]

[pendantry]

Well you don't owe anything.

[And since she considers this conversation over, she turns to head back for the smithy at a sluggish pace.]

I don't.

[This is no way to make friends.

Good.]

[pendantry]

[Will Leon receive a straighter answer?]

No. Why?

You're welcome I guess?

[He sighed, turning to Cerberus.]

She seemed to like you more. What do you think?

[Cerberus merely gave the boy a look over before sighing himself. Naoki growled.]

Gee, thanks for the moral support.
