Well, sometimes monsters live apart from humans and demons, but... from what I've seen, those are usually the wilder ones. They'll attack unsuspecting travelers or if you disturb their homes.

...But a lot of humanoids will do that too. Bandits, guys just looking for a fight, that kinda thing.
